Summary0003486: Rename $boarddir hardcoded variable to $forumdir
Description$boarddir should be renamed to $forumdir in Settings.php. Boards are, by SMF definition, individual collections of threads. The entire collection of boards is referred to as the forum.

Also, $boardurl should be renamed as well.

These hardcoded variables are confusing when you consider that they are referenced throughout code, where the term "board" refers to something that isn't the same as what the variable is referring to.

Indeed this is a bit of an inconsistency.

We can't change this for 2.0 though.
It would break existing forums, and especially PACKAGES.

IMO its something for 2.1 to be done as soon as we start working on it.

I don't think it's worth changing in 2.x. It mainly concerns modders and they're used to it or see it in every package they may take as example...

Though, it's one of the (little or not) things that may make SMF code more confusing than necessary for coders not used to it.
